Carla Friedman named to Chicago’s tenth annual Jewish “36 Under 36” list

Aug 2, 2021

The Cambridge Group today announced that incoming consultant, Carla Friedman, has been named to the annual “Double Chai in the Chi: 36 Under 36” list.

"We're thrilled to see that one of our team members is being recognized for her hard work and impact in the community. Carla mirrors the values of The Cambridge Group where we look for team members who don’t just make a difference at our clients but who also strive to improve the world around them,” said Jim Eckels, Managing Partner.

Carla has been involved with the JUF Young Leadership Division (YLD) for the last nine years, participating in the JUF Professional Women’s Network Mentoring Program and organizing her board’s Campaign contributions. She has also been part of several JUF YLD committees, including the inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee; the Board Development Initiatives Committee; and the Data + Analytics committee. She is the incoming board president of the 2021-22 term.

The annual “Double Chai in the Chi: 36 Under 36” is a list of young Jewish movers and shakers in Chicago who are making major contributions through their work, in their free time, and in the Jewish community and beyond. The letters of the word “chai” mean “life” in Hebrew and represent the significant social impact the winners have made during the past year – working to build a better society, increase health and wellness during the COVID-19 pandemic and building connections with others in unique ways. The list is compiled annually and while honorees have traditional careers that span fields, they all have a commitment to elevating their community beyond of these roles.

JUF YLD past President Joanna Gliksberg stated, “I’m so inspired by the list of honorees, especially this past year as we faced COVID. So many showed up, stepped up and gave back in new ways despite such challenging times. To everyone honored— thank you for your contributions to our community and beyond."

Prior to joining The Cambridge Group, Carla was an Innovation Brand Lead for the SweeTARTS brand at Ferrara, where she helped develop their 5+ year innovation pipeline.  She also worked on Nielsen’s Marketing Effectiveness team where she delivered cutting edge marketing analytics capabilities to Fortune 500 companies. Carla recently earned her MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

Carla notes, “I am humbled to be honored as a Double Chai in the Chi: 36 under 36, alongside many other leaders who are making a substantial impact on our community.  This past year has been one of great progress in helping the ever-evolving needs of our community and as incoming JUF YLD board president, I am eager to build upon this work to continue advancing JUF’s mission of supporting those in need.  This award comes at a significant time as I start my journey at The Cambridge Group, where I am eager to collaborate with new like-minded colleagues and uphold the strong values of the company."
